? Actually sounds like a normal and contemporary position for most students. Way to go Florida for setting a possible precedent on furthering the indebtedness of college students. Then again this is a state were education as a priority is on the extreme low side of the national curve. It is the south after all. It is not affectionately referred to as “Flori-Duh” for no reason. Incidentally, many of the students already have felonious records since high school, so this is not really a surprising trend. Fucking over the least educated bewildered herd has been a historical pastime for eons in human existence regardless of location. In the grand scheme of things, the poor, underprivileged and already legally scared for life via the prison industrial complex, provides so few options.

I assume they are supposed to pay for this new-found health insurance with their extensive savings, obviously gained by working in such lucrative service sector part time jobs such as Dunkin Donuts or busing tables at one of the faceless Applebees. Perhaps a part time retail job at The Dollar Store or the almost out of business, JC Penny at the local Mall would suffice to offset the tuition and health insurance. Mind you, most if not all of these unfortunate individuals are not covered by health insurance by employers due to their part time status which is widely adopted policy in corporate America. Remember profits over people at any cost.

Just look at those figures for the cost of attendance. Depending on when you are reading this rant – It is safe to assume the tuition will only increase while the quality of life for the middle class, especially in suburban dystonia of rural Florida, will only continue to decrease. This disparity will only increase the debt culture that is so apparent for life in the USA. Students will quickly amass an insurmountable debt in student loans prior to graduation, and effectively become debt slaves for a great portion of their respective adult lives.
