LIC Hotel Review

LIC Hotel in Queens, NY is located in an exceptional city-esque spot, making it very convenient to travel by mass transit to Manhattan. I stayed here for two nights at the end of June and the service was courteous and professional. Staff from reception, front desk and check in to cleaning service was consistently accommodating and friendly. The only reason this would not be considered the fill 5 stars is due to the lack of a private parking on the Hotel grounds. There is only a few small private lot which requires considerable patience in securing a space. This is completely understandable considering the metropolitan location.

Regardless, I was able to easily find a parking spot on both nights right around the corner, one block east of the main entrance. Since the immediate area is semi-industrial, shops and small companies will close, freeing up some parking space in close proximity. Even arriving late on a weekday evening I was able to find several spaces in this area. Albeit having a small compact rental car helps.

In addition, many shops, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance. One caveat is the due to the street noise, especially on weekday mornings. Once again something expected due to the location and urban environment. Even on the third floor I could hear all the street traffic and delivery trucks below.

The hotel has a very scenic roof top lounge which can accommodate 175 people. This provides a great visual experience, especially at night or when you want your own semi-private rendezvous point overlooking the city. All the rooms are contemporary and furnished with modern look and feel. Great hotel with reasonable rates. I would not hesitate to stay here again and will do so when visiting New York.
